The lab expands in Summer 2026

Exciting updates since the last post! Many roster changes, including the joining of Jasmine Lay and Carmita Lémus Valdes as MSc students in the lab. Janeel Naidu has also decided never to leave the group and joined on as an MSc student. Multiple generations of undergraduates coming and going. This summer we welcome Aariz Kadiwal as a fellow of the RUSH program to perform health research pertaining to space travel. Jolene Lesuk, Sepehr Roonasi, and Ramtin Khosrozad will be performing Directed Research with the lab. Neha Sunil is our new Work Study student performing critical lab support tasks. Continuing on this summer as volunteers are Tiana Ha and Hilary Huang. This brings our total head count to 13 (!) including myself, which is both exciting and daunting.

Another happy news is Janeel getting back-to-back poster awards at the Canadian Symposium for Telomere and Genome Instability meeting in Victoria, BC, and at the SFU MBB Research Colloquium. Good job, Janeel! And thank you for the organizers for holding such a great conferences.

Thank you to members who have departed for all their hard work, and I am looking forward to a productive Summer 2026!
